News recap of 2013

PyroCeltica at Burning Man 2013

2013 was a great year for the PyroCeltica crew with over 20 successful gigs, 70 community meet ups and loads of training sessions we became a well oiled machine and solid team.

Here’s some highlights.

Early in 2013 we acquired Hurtle the fire engine. A real beauty and essential part of our operations. Throughout the year we have modified her to carry our P.A and pyro kit with a rooftop stage conversion.
She sits loaded and ready for the next adventure.

Our 2013 show ‘Clash of the Clans’ was well received by thousands of spectators over 7 different showings.
With a freshly composed soundtrack, new costumes and a variety of new flaming effects, props and battle weapons the show was our best work to date.

Things really started heating up when we made our journey to the Burning Man festival in America participating in the Worlds biggest fire show. PyroCeltica were the main organizers of the UK Fireworks Collective – a group of 36 talented fire performers from all around the UK.
This was a huge mission but our fantastic team pulled it off in amazing style representing Scotland and the UK on an international stage.

Returning to the UK the excitement didn’t stop. We continued to have a solid stream of gigs and training- finishing the year performing at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Torchlight Procession while 40,00 spectators passed by.

We were fortunate to obtain funding from Awards for All in order to make CircuSkool a free community project. This enabled all our crew to get special first aid and child protection training as well as some new circus equipment for all to share.

Here’s to 2014 and looking forward to more epic adventures.
